Grow herbs, vegetables and flowers using aquaponics. Aquaponics is the combination of growing fish and plants together in an integrated system. The fish create a food source for the plants. The plants naturally filter the water for the fish. Before you begin, your pond should be healthy and well established with a balance of fish and aquatic plants before introducing the grow kit. For new fish ponds, please allow 6 weeks for your pond to create a natural bio-filter cycle before introducing the grow kit. We suggest these types of seeds for beginners: leafy lettuce, arugula, pak choi, kale, spinach, swiss chard, basil, mint, chives, watercress, parsley, lemongrass, sage, oregano. You can also add flowering plants into the mix like daisies, zinnias and marigolds. Simply place the growing media in the baskets, and place the seeds (not included) on top. Trickle some of the pond water on top of the seeds. Place the floating system in the water and watch it grow.
- Simply place the seeds in carriage, place them in the water and watch the plants grow
- You can also grow in a container without fish by adding a hydroponic fertilizer (not included)
- 15 inches in diameter when all three floats are attached
- For plants or herbs (seeds not included)
- No additional watering is necessary
